Prof. Dr Ada Pellert

Prof. Dr Ada Pellert has been Rector of the FernUniversität in Hagen since March 2016. Prior to this, the economist worked in the university management of various universities in the German-speaking world and as a professor for organisational development and education management.

Ada Pellert (born in 1962) was the founding president of the German University for Continuing Education in Berlin from 2009 to 2015 and at the same time Professor of Organizational Development and Education Management. She was also President of the Carl Benz Academy in Beijing from 2011 to February 2016. Prior to this, Ada Pellert was a university professor for continuing education research and education management and vice rector for teaching, continuing education and structural issues at the Danube University Krems from 2005 to 2008. From 1998 to 2005, she worked as Associate Professor at the Department of Higher Education Research of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Research and Continuing Education at the University of Klagenfurt. From 1999 to 2003 she was Vice-Rector of the University of Graz for Teaching, Human Resources Development and Women’s Promotion. Since the 1990s, she has been active in international comparative research on education and higher education, the further education of university lecturers, and advising higher education institutions nationally and internationally. Ada Pellert received her doctorate in social and economic sciences from the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration in 1987.

Her research focuses in particular on education and university management, personnel development and organizational development. The economist is also involved in international university and continuing education research, gender and diversity management and lifelong learning.

Since September 2016 Ada Pellert has been chairwoman of the cooperation platform Digital University NRW (DH-NRW), since August 2018 she has been a member of the Digital Council of the Federal Government.
