Melanie Thewlis

thewlisMelanie Thewlis is the co-founder of Little Web Giants (littlewebgiants.com), a web development and online marketing agency dedicated to supporting non-government organisations, the renewable energy sector and creative industries. As the company’s lead web developer she has overseen more than 50 projects over 5 years, ranging from a data visualisation of gentrification in Berlin to an urban beekeeping e-commerce platform.

Melanie holds a BA (Hons) in Political Science from the University of Melbourne and a BSci in Creative Computing from the University of London. She has had a lifelong involvement with volunteer and activist work on issues of social justice and the environment and is also a qualified and experienced English language teacher.

Melanie is an active member of the Berlin tech community, winner of the inaugural Hamburg Hackathon, and speaker at events such as Social Media Week, Geek Girl Meetup, Node Media Arts Festival and Geekettes Monthly. She teaches front end web development at betahaus and at the Nachbarschaftshaus Centrum e.V.
