Hygiene Concept

Safety and Hygiene Concept

Please be aware that changes may occur with regard to the development of the pandemic. According to our current safety and hygiene concept, the following rules apply:

Participation on site

Vaccinated and recovered persons only

Participation on site is only possible for fully vaccinated and recovered persons. In addition to the respective proof of vaccination or recovery, proof of a negative antigen test for COVID-19 performed on the same day by a certified testing center must be provided.

All guests have to show their proof of complete vaccination or recovery and additional proof of a negative COVID-19 antigen test in an electronic form at the check-in. Self-tests are not accepted.

According to the Federal Ministry of Health applies:

  • Basic immunization (2 vaccinations) is valid until September 30, 2022.
  • Booster applies indefinitely.
  • Officially recovered is valid for 3 months
  • But for cross-border travel, the EU has limited the validity period of basic immunization to 270 days. Nevertheless, the decision of the EU to limit the validity does not eliminate the freedom of movement as fundamental freedom of the European Union. Vacation travelers are therefore not prevented from entering Germany.

What is the validity period of vaccination certificates within Germany?

The vaccination certificates issued after two vaccinations are valid until September 30, 2022 as proof of a complete vaccination. As of October 1, 2022, a booster vaccination (i.e., a 3rd vaccination) is generally required to be considered “fully vaccinated.”

Has the EU limited the validity period of vaccination certificates?

Yes, through EU Regulation 2021/2288 of December 21, 2021, where the EU Commission, through a so-called delegated act, has set a recognition period of 270 days for the EU digital vaccination certificate after the completion of basic immunization. However, this duration only applies to cross-border travel.

In addition, we strongly recommend all participants to download the corona warn app before attending the event.

Distance regulations and mask requirements:

A distance regulation of 1.5 m applies. Apart from that, it applies the general obligation to wear masks indoors, especially if the minimum distance of 1.5 m cannot be maintained. Exceptions to the mask requirement are only permitted during mealtimes in designated food service areas and additionally in outdoor areas. Based on the numbers of corona infections at the time of the event, we reserve the right to repeal the mask requirement.

Disinfection measures
The location is equipped with mobile disinfection dispensers. Touchpoints such as door handles, doors, surfaces, WC/wash basins are regularly disinfected several times a day by a cleaning team.
Collection of Personal Data as part of our Hygiene Concept

The current Berlin Ordinance on Basic Measures to Protect the Population from Infections with the SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus (“SARS-CoV-2 Basic Protective Measures Ordinance – BaSchMV”) from 29 March 2022 and amended since 31 May 2022 (legal text can be found here) does not require any registration of contact details for events anymore.

However, on one hand these rules may change until September and on the other we want to ensure your safety when attending the Ada Lovelace Festival at all times.

Based on §22 (1)(c) BDSG, we thus want to still run quick checks of your test or vaccination or recovery certificates. As stipulated in Art. 5 GDPR, we will ensure that:

  • no data will be stored through us, meaning test, vaccination or recovery status will only be checked at the doors, but not recorded
  • data will be checked via established technical tools, such as QR code scanning via apps.

It is unlikely, but depending on the situation in September,  we might legally be required to record the personal data of all guests (surname, name, address and a secure way to contact you, e.g. phone number, e-mail address) for health safety reasons. This means in case of a positive COVID-19 test result this information will be used and reported to authorities and amongst all guests reported to us. We would only disclose personal data to the responsible authorities if and to the extent that we are legally obliged to do so. In this respect, the processing is based on Art. 6, para. 1, lit. c DSGVO.

Please find notes about all of the above in our privacy policy here.
